Additional Property Attributes

Bob Ruud Community Center is a municipal public meeting space in Pahrump, NV. Based on the building's original construction date of 1964 with additions made in 1974, the Town of Pahrump was concerned about the potential presence of asbestos-containing materials and lead-bsed paint used in the facility's building materials. Further, extensive damage to the facility's roof necessitated repairs be made to the building or that the building be razed and rebuilt. The Nevada 128(a) Brownfields program provided 18,044 to have a Phase I environmental site assessment to include limited sampling of the building's construction materials for ACMs and Pb-Based paint and also for a Alternatives Feasibility Analysis performed to help the Town determine if renovation of the existing structure or demolition and new construction was the most cost-benefical approach to addressing needed maintenance. Based on the findings of the Feasibility Analysis and the Town's current budgetary constraints, the Town leaders decided to repair the damaged roof of the facility and maintain the condition of existing vinyl flooring determined to contain asbestos until additional renovations could be afforded.
