Additional Property Attributes

The subject property is a triangular shaped parcel of land improved with a prefabricated one-story slab-on-grade office building built in the 1990s and was previously used as offices by the District Department of Transportation DDOT. The property is located on the west side of Shepherd Parkway, S.W. in the D.C. Village area of Washington DC. While vehicular access to the site is available from Shepherd Parkway, chain-link fencing sorrounds the central and southern portions of the property limiting pedestrian access.

Former Use: The subject property is located in a small hill on the west side of Shephered Parkway, SW, southwest of the intersection with Blue Plains Drive, in the D.C. Village of Washington DC. The subject property occupies a roughly triangular-shaped parcel of land and is improved with a fabricated, one-story slab-on-grade office building built in the 1990s and was previously used as offices by the District Department of Transportation DDOT. Since at least 1903, the property has been a portion of a larger tract of land owned and operated by the DC Government. By 1906, the "Blue Plains Home of the Aged and Infiem" facility was constructed east of the property and has been expanded and renovated many times to become part of the DC Village and housed the DC Department of Human Services facility. Fort Meyers Construction was listed as the last occupant of the facility untill 2005 and since this date, the property was vacated and remained vacant with the exception of being used to stage equipment for the proposed asphalt plant.
