Additional Property Attributes

This property is a former asbestos disposal site.

Former Use: The site is located in a residential area abutting the Nashua River. The property was used as an urban residence since the 1800s. The building currently onsite was built in 1968, and has been used as a credit bureau, a hair salon, and real estate offices. The property was purchased by the current owners, Southern NH Services, a non-profit, in 2010 and serves as office space as well as a day care. The EPA placed a cap over asbestos containing mateials along the Nashua River, including a small portion of this property, in the 1980s under the name South Bank Asbestos Area. Additional asbestos was found in surface soils at this site in a location south of the capped area.The property was purchased by SNHS, a non-profit, for use as office space and a daycare. During the redevelopment of the property, asbestos was found in surface soils at the rear of the parcel. The City is requiring remediation of the asbestos prior to approving a certificate of occupancy.
