Additional Property Attributes

This residential site was vacant since 1986. Now it is home to The Humboldt Elementary Learning Garden where students are encouraged to find their green thumbs. Although lead was found on the property during Phase II, the levels were not higher than acceptable amounts for a residential property according to DEQ. Nonetheless, for children and adult safety, urban gardening best practices were followed to ensure that digging in and eating from an urban garden would not be a cause for concern. Today, the garden has raised beds and the area where the highest concentration of lead was found is now a stone and concrete patio.

Former Use: Residential lot. A small apartment building, built and maintained during a time when leaded paint was in use, was demolished in 1986.
