Additional Property Attributes

Located on a main commercial corridor in the City of Portland, this lot has remained vacant since 1981. Surrounding this property includes residential, a gasoline service station, a fast-food chain restaurant, and a large grocery store. The Phase I ESA report recommended a Phase II ESA investigation into possible soil contamination from past uses including an auto service station and a dry cleaner. The recent Phase II investigation did not reveal any contamination associated with past uses. The site is now ready for redevelopment.

Former Use: From 1909 to 1924 there was a residential property on this site. In 1950, historical records indicate an auto repair shop and the 1969 Sanborn Map shows an office with the "auto repair" structure still in place. Also, the Polk Directory lists "used car" businesses in 1963 and 1967. Records also revealed the presence of a dry cleaner. From 1981 to the present, the property has remained vacant.
