Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Development of the Site appears to have occurred between 1892 and 1927. A building permit was issued on May 5, 1925 to the Buestrim Construction Company listed as the Site owner for construction of a �Brick Store.� Historic records confirm the Site was occupied in 1927 by a rectangular building occupied by two separate contiguous stores facing North Avenue. City Directories suggest that the two stores identified on a 1927 Sanborn Map were a butcher meat market and a grocery store both of which appear to have remained at the Site in some form through the late 1940s. Norbert Runkel is identified as the Site owner on building permit dated June 11, 1941. The Site was sold to Richard W. Lardinois and Harold C. Lardinois in 1952 who appear to have renovated the interior of the building into a single store and City Directories indicate the Site was occupied by North Avenue Appliance Household Appliance Retail and Service continuously from 1952 through 1999. An addition was added to the northern portion of the building in 1961. The Site was sold to Brayton Devco, LLC in 2000, and the interior of the building renovated by dividing the single store into two separate continuous store fronts, similar in layout to the 1927 floor plan. From 2001 through today, the two storefronts have been occupied by various commercial entities including: carpet sales/installation, electrical repair, audio and video equipment, cellular telephones, radio and telecommunications, hobby and model supply, clothing retail, perfume supplies, and a martial arts studio. A Warranty Deed indicates the current Site owner, Growel Property Management, LLC., took ownership of the Site from Brayton Devco, LLC on January 18, 2005.
