Additional Property Attributes

MtBE identified in groundwater at the Site is attributed to an upgradient off-site source which is currently being monitored by another responsible party (believed to be associated with the Former Exxon/Gulf Express Filling Station at 21 N. Main Street under NHDES Site No. 200005047 and/or the former Cumberland Farms at 297-301 Granite Street under NHDES Site No. 199812217).

Former Use: The Site consists of an approximate 0.77-acre parcel located at 271 Granite Street in the City of Manchester, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. The Site is bordered by Douglas Street to the north, Granite Street to the south, and is bisected by Second Street. The Site is located in a downtown mixed-use district primarily characterized by commercial offices, retail stores, and municipal buildings. Historically, portions of the Site were used as an automobile repair facility, service station, social club, and residence. The Site had been vacant and void of structures and/or used solely for parking purposes for the past 10 to 15 years prior to redevelopment into a Dunkin Donuts restaurant. The Site was previously owned by the City of Manchester and was comprised of two separate public parking lots used by a nearby high school and area businesses. The Site was formally used by the state DOT during the construction of the Granite Street Interchange.
