Additional Property Attributes

This undeveloped property sits behind retail stores and a dry cleaner on a dense commercial corridor that developed during the 1960s and 1970s. It is adjacent to the City of Atlanta William Walker Recreation Center (also known as Ben Hill Park Recreation Center). In 2011, the City was negotiating the property's purchase to expand the recreation center. The City's Brownfield program assisted with a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) and a Limited Phase II ESA as part of the due diligence. The City did not move forward with the acquisition or expansion of the recreation center onto the property. However, the property was rezoned in 2013 to encourage mixed use development as part of the area's redevelopment plan. The property changed ownership in 2017 for $55,000; although, the property remains vacant.

Former Use: The property and area was developed as early as the 1930s. It is now part of a busy commercial corridor. Adjacent dry cleaners operated since 1960s.
