Additional Property Attributes

Hinsdale County plans to redevelop the Townsite for historic restoration, heritage tourism, and economic development purposes.

Former Use: The Site is associated with the south adjacent Ute-Ulay Mine and Mill site that has been in operation since circa 1871. The owner at the beginning of the TBA activities, LKA International, Inc., purchased the Site and the adjacent Mine and Mill site in December 1982 and operated the mine portion with no milling operations onsite. The Site acted as the Townsite/home for the adjacent Mine and Mill site workers. Both sites have been vacant and abandoned for a few years.
