Additional Property Attributes

The Subject Property is located at 217 South 21st Street in the city of Newark, Licking County, Ohio. The Subject Property is not currently in use. 11 groundwater monitoring wells were previously installed at the site. The site overlies a deep buried bedrock valley filled with unconsolidated sand, gravel, silt and clay. The uppermost subsurface zone on-site is a of sand and gravel that extends to depths ranging from approximately 40 to 60 feet and overlies a dense silty clay . The silty clay separates the upper sand and gravel from an underlying sand and gravel that extends to depths of approximately 200 feet in the area. Groundwater occurs in the upper sand and gravel at shallow depth (approximately 12 to 15 feet below ground surface (bgs)). Chlorinated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have been detected in shallow groundwater at the site during past investigations. The city intends to clean up the site and reuse it for industrial redevelopment.

Former Use: Abandoned property the city is try to clean up and redevelop. It is the former Quality Chemical or also known as the former Yost Janitorial Supply. An adjacent business would like to expand onto the site.
