We are assisting the site owner with compliance with their NC Brownfields Agreement, including preparing a Environmental Management Plan prior to development.

Former Use: The site is the former location of the Patterson Mill consisting of a textile plant with related outbuildings. The mill was owned and operated from 1910-1989 by the Patterson Mills Company, Simmons Company, J.P. Stevens & Company and The BiBB Company. At various times, the plant was used to manufacture finished cotton textile products and unfinished products. The mill was closed in 1989 and used for storage until 1997 when the property was sold to Roanoke Rapids Graded School District RR GSD. All buildings were demolished between 1999 and 2004. A smoke stack, concrete pads and supports and wood flooring are what remains on the site.
