Additional Property Attributes

The site is an active tavern and bowling alley in Chinook, MT. The site has one large structure that contains a banquet hall, kitchen, bowling alley, maintenance room, locker room and a tavern. The Phase II ESA investigation showed that 13 building materials contained asbestos in concentrations greater than 1 by weight as Category I, non-friable ACBM. Four additional building materials contained less than 1 asbestos by weight. If the building is demolished, the asbestos-containing materials should be abated in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Former Use: The site consists of a one level structure built in 1954 and remodeled in 1974. The property has only been owned by the Chinook Aerie #689 FOE. Two additions were added to the building, but the dates of the additions are unknown. One addition includes a loft above the kitchen on the east side of the building. The second addition includes the manager's office, the west entrance/coat room, the bowling alley seating area, storage closets, and the locker room.
