Additional Property Attributes

City of Atlanta Jennie Drake Park was established in 2011 after years of Collier Heights residents advocating for protecting this wooded area. In 2012, the City had an opportunity to add another acre to the 3-acre urban forest. The City's Brownfield Program completed a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) as part of the due diligence. No recognized environmental conditions (RECs) were found and the property is now part of the park. City Council authorized $34,425 for the expansion. $80,000 was originally spent to establish the park. In 2017, City Council and Park Pride invested $10,000 in improving the park. There was also an authorized $12,000 budget in 2014 for a trail in the park as planned for by the Friends of Jennie Drake Park and Park Pride.

Former Use: Property has been wooded since at least 1938 and is located in the Highland Heights residential subdivision adjacent to Jennie Drake Park.
