Additional Property Attributes

The City has been working with a developer who has proposed a mixed use/multi-family residential development on the site. The City anticipates providing a RLF Loan to the developer to manage contaminated materials, conduct vapor mitigation and supplement the existing cap.

Former Use: The Site is located at 1129 Michigan Boulevard, Racine, Wisconsin and consists of one parcel of land approximately 9.65 acres in size. The Site was formerly occupied by the Freeman Manufacturing Company (manufacturer of boilers, windmills and farm implements). All of the Freeman Manufacturing buildings were razed between 1930 and 1941. Currently, the Site consists of former building foundations, concrete/asphalt paved areas and some gravel drives. The Site is bordered to the north by the Racine Water Utility facility, to the east by Lake Michigan, to the west by Michigan Boulevard and to the south by Reichert Court. The Site was most recently utilized as a parking area for the Racine Water Utility.
