Additional Property Attributes

Site soils were sampled and analyzed for pesticides, PAHs, RCRA metals, and VOCs. Several RCRA metals (Mercury, arsenic, lead, barium, Chromium, and silver) were detected above laboratory reporting limits but were below applicable Statewide Standards. Groundwater was not encountered at the site due to refusal at bedrock.

Former Use: Property contained light industrial development from 1884-1894. This included an implement warehouse in 1884; a wagon warehouse in 1888; and a junk shop and the �Marshalltown Light, Power and Railroad Co�, which included a car barn, in 1894. Property contained light industrial and commercial developmetn from 1901-1921. This included a railroad YMCA and the �Marshalltown Light, Power and Railroad Co�, which included a street car barn, in 1901; a railroad YMCA and the �Marshalltown Light, Power and Street Railway Co� in 1910; a vacant structure (former railroad YMCA) and the �Iowa Railway and Light Co�, which included a street car barn, in 1921. Property contained commercial development from 1931-1945. This included a hotel and a motor coach garage and repair shop with an associated gasoline tank located in the R.O.W. Property contained light industrial and residential development from 1958-1964. This included an apartment building and a feed mixing plant; the 1964 Sanborn map identified a gas tank located in the R.O.W. Property contained commercial development from 1968-1983 and a vacant lot since 1994.
