Additional Property Attributes

The city sold the property to 1558 Barnum Ave. LLC and property redevelopment is ongoing.

Former Use: The property was used as a scrap yard from the early 1930s to 2003, most recently by Stratford Metals. Four buildings remained on the property. Porters Grove Company recycled electronic circuit board copper etching solutions from 1980 to 1989 on the property. When these operations ceased, all the tankage was cleaned and sold as part of their storage closure. The State of Connecticut and the EPA each conducted a separate cleanups to remove drums from the property in the early 1990s.
