Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property was used as a trucking terminal from the early 1960's to the late 1970's. Two structures, an office building and a garage, previously located on the property, were demolished in the early 1990's. The property was later used by the Connecticut Wrecking Company as a storage area for demolition debris from 1991 to 1992, when the State of Connecticut ordered the removal of solid waste debris from the property, estimated to be between 30,000 to 35,000 cubic yards. According to CT Department of Environmental Protection documentation, the demolition debris material was removed from the property in January 1993. PPF - Mount Trashmore Property, 1/30/06 Grant-funded cleanup activities were completed in 2010, but contamination still remains. There are no current redevelopment plans for the property.
