Additional Property Attributes

Property is located across the canal from the Bellows Falls Waypoint Interpretive Center, another former brownfield property. In May 2006, the property owner opened "Boccelli's on the Canal" in half of the building. This cafe offers dining on an eat-in or take-out basis and also sells gourmet foods, italian specialties, antiques, and collectibles. The other half of the building opened as an auction house at the end of October 2006. (PPF attached to Final Report, 10/1/03-9/30/06)

Former Use: The property is located approximately 75 feet from a canal and 1,000 feet from the Connecticut River. There is one building on the property that is a single story brick structure of approximately 3,200 square feet that was constructed in 1935. The property has been an electric motor, gasoline stove and clothing manufacturer and a harness and carriage shop. The current building was constructed in the 1930's for the White Brothers Milk Company and was used to garage and wash milk trucks. There was a UST on the property used to store fuel for the trucks. From the 1940's-1970's, it became a machine shop and a woodworking shop. It was operated as LaFoe's Scrap Metal & Iron from 1980-1987, which stored and cut scrap metal cardboard. In 1987, it used by CA Rahue Warehouses for the storage of knots and bolts.
