Additional Property Attributes

Litchfield property neighbors, town officials, and fire department and State staff cannot confirm whether the fuel tanks, if they exist, have been removed. Use of a metal detector showed a positive reading for metal where the gas pumps may have been located. In northwestern Vermont, the severe housing shortage has become a limiting factor on economic growth. As a result, our brownfield efforts are focusing on creation and maintenance of housing opportunities. The prospective developer of this property intends to develop it into housing. (PPF- Litchfield property, 1/15/05) Habitat for Humanity purchased the property and is currently pursuing local permits to redevelop the property into a duplex. (PPF attached to QR 11, 4/1/06-6/30/06) The property is being redeveloped into a duplex residential unit for two families. (PPF attached to QR 12, 7/1/06 - 9/30/06)

Former Use: From 1983-2003, the property was used for residential purposes. The property is believed to have operated as a gasoline and service station from 1960s-1980s.
