Additional Property Attributes

Low levels (but above standards) of lead and cadmium were identified in one of six ground water wells installed. Downgradient samples indicate that contamination is not extending further south on the property or offsite. Town of Cortez has decided to move forward with the purchase and is considering whether or not to apply to the VCUP program for a NAD or to just attach a deed restriction to the property indicating that no drinking water wells can be installed on the site in its current condition.

Former Use: The Site, identified as the Four Corners Material Site, is located at 25306 and 25350 Road L, Cortez, Montezuma County, Colorado, in a mixed industrial, commercial and residential setting. The Site address of 25306 Road L has been assigned Parcel Number 561123200014; is currently owned by Mountain Gravel & Construction Co � C/O Four Corners Material; contains approximately 19.00 acres. The Site address of 25350 Road l has been assigned Parcel Number 561123200017; is currently owned by Mountain Gravel & Construction Co � C/O Four Corners Material; contains approximately 61.00 acres. The Site boundary is rectangular-shaped, with Parcel Number 561123200014 (25306 Road L) situated on the majority of the northern portion of the Site and covering approximately � of the Site boundary; while Parcel Number 561123200017 (25350 Road L) is situated on the remainder of the Site. The Site previously operated as an asphalt batch plant and then a concrete batch plant. The portable concrete batch plant and assocaited equipment/materials were removed from the Site in the Spring of 2013 and has since been vacant.
