Additional Property Attributes

The Town of St. Johnsbury aquired this site at tax sale after the Cooperative Agreement period commenced. An AAI/ASTM compliant Phase 1 ESA was completed and the property was enrolled in the State of Vermont Environmental Liability Limitation Program prior to title transfer. The Site and building are currently vacant and have been for over 6 years. The proposed reuse of this property is as part of the Three Rivers Recreation trail system. As part of the overall redevelopment, the Site will be capable of providing pedestrian amenities as the parking access for the recreation trail. Originally created from placement of fill along the banks of the Passumpsic River, the Site has over 100 years of documented development, during which time it has been occupied by blacksmiths, garages, bottling companies, plumbing & heating, equipment rental and office furniture commercial space.

Former Use: The property and building are currently vacant. A two story building sits on a 0.21 acre parcel in an industrial/commercial neighborhood. The downtown shopping district is several hundred yards west of the site and the Passumpsic River is several hundred yards east. The St. Johnsbury Railroad Yard is several hundred yards south.
