Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site property contains two structures; a 3,320 square foot steel shop building with an oval roof and a 2,240 square foot wood- storage barn. The shop building contains a reception area, office, and large open shop on a concrete slab. A mezzanine exists above the reception and office areas and is used for storage. The storage barn contains a concrete floor in the central area with wood flooring on either end. A semi-trailer adjoins each of the buildings for additional storage. Improvements also include 17,351 square feet of asphalt pavement, 680 square feet of concrete pavement, and 3,507 lineal feet of chain-link fencing. The Site is connected to municipal water and sewer. A septic system was used at the Site prior to the sewer hookup being available. The decommissioned septic tank is located west of the shop building. The Site was originally owned to the T.C. Power Company (Power Townsend) and used to support their business on the adjoining property to the north. The storage barn on the Site was built in 1890 and used as a stable. Two buildings formerly along the east boundary of the Site were used as a garage to store buggies; one building was removed by 1968 and the other by 1977. In 1968, the existing business was developed on the Site with construction of the shop. In 1972, the shop was doubled in size and the new addition included a floor drain in the south shop bay. The floor drain was reportedly used to receive snow melt off vehicles for about five years then filled in with concrete. A 550 gallon underground storage tank was installed at the Site in 1976 and removed in 1993 with no evidence of a release. All but the northeast corner of the Site was paved in 1976.
