Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site has a long history of industrial/manufacturing operations run by different owner/occupants. J.I. Case, Massey Harris and Western Publishing all owned/operated areas of the Site, and utilized them for large scale industrial/manufacturing purposes. While the exact details of the day-to-day operations of these historical owners/operators are unknown, historic Site use included the manufacturing of farming equipment and a large scale publishing operation. Several railways and spurs were historically located at the Site and it is possible that a release had occurred during loading/unloading activities. It is likely that petroleum related products and/or hazardous materials were utilized in the maintenance and/or daily operations of the historical Site operators.
