Additional Property Attributes

The Housing Authority of Salt Lake City HASLC purchased the property to construct low-income housing apartments at the property. During excavation activities associated with the construction, a previously unknown 4,000-gallon underground storage tank UST was discovered. HASLC submitted a closure plan to the DERR and closed the UST by removal. Petroleum hydrcarbon contaminated soils and groundwater was evident within the UST excavation area and closure sample analytical results showed elevated levels of petroleum contamination in the soil and groundwater. The propetry owner and developer utilized their own excavation contractor and soil transportation company to remove petroleum-contaminated soils from the property. DERR personnel were on-site during excavation activities and field screened the excavated soils to assist with disposal options. Once the extent of impacted soil was removed, the DERR personnel collected soil and groundwater confirmation samples from the open excavation. The property assessment sample results indicated that all contaminants of concern were below state established cleanup standards. A property assessment report was prepared on March 18, 2005 and a No Further Action letter was issued to HASLC on April 15, 2005.Currently, the 84-unit housing complex is 90 leased.
