Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: At present, this portion of the Site is comprised of a 2-story brick building which has approximately 10,944 feet of finished area. The building was completed in approximately 1920. The site is serviced by electricity and natural gas from We-Energies and storm and sanitary sewer through the City of Racine. The 2012 City of Racine assessed property value is 150,000.Initial development of this portion of the Site appears to be for residential purposes, historical Sanborn maps depict several residential dwellings present on the 1908 map. By 1933 the Site appears to be mostly occupied by a large building located on the northern portion of the Site labeled as a Reloading station for bread wagons. The large building appears to be located in a similar position and size as the current building at the Site. City of Racine property sales records indicate that Howard Industries owned the property from 1950 to 1952, that Racine Hydraulics and Machine Inc. owned the property in 1952, Color Arts Inc., a sign and card writers company, owned the property from 1952 to 1966, and the current owner, Hargrave, portion of the Site took ownership in 1979. Mrs. Hargrave indicated that she utilized the site for Machining and Die Making until approximately 10 years ago when she began renting it for fabrication of custom wood cabinets and stone countertops.
