Additional Property Attributes

The KDHE conducted a Brownfields Targeted Assessment for the City of Dwight as part of their community building and library redevelopment project. Based on the Phase I report, RECs were identified as petroleum contaminants associated with the historical use of the west adjoining property as a filling station prior to 1960 and reportedly several underground storage tanks may still exist on the property. The filling station relocated across the street to the southwest and is currently listed in the KDHE Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) database as an actively monitored site, Dwight Auto Service. A formal review of the site characterization data and monitoring reports in association with the Dwight Auto Service LUST Site was conducted to identify the extent of the LUST investigation and determine if the former location of the filling station, which adjoins the BTA property, may be a contributing source to known groundwater impacts in the area. Based on the groundwater monitoring and investigation data collected to date, the historical filling station facility located adjacent to the BTA property is not a contributing source for groundwater contamination and further investigation of this property is not warranted at this time. The BTA property was cleared for redevelopment. An Asbestos Building Survey was also conducted as an additional scope outside of the ASTM-1527-05 Phase I assessment. Asbestos containing material (ACM) was not identified in the samples collected from the building.

Former Use: Prior to 1910, undeveloped property; utilized by various telephone companies (1910 - 1965); community building (1975 - present)
