Additional Property Attributes

The site has served historically as a petroleum distribution facility accessible by the local rail line. Previous assessments and remediation include soil removals to address petroleum related contamination. Recently, Midstate removed onsite structures and the site is currently undeveloped with no structures and ready for redevelopment. Midstate is in the State of Washington Voluntary Cleanup Program and working towards site closure.

Former Use: The site was previously used as a bulk petroleum facility. Some of the earliest available information on this property indicates that the prior use included petroleum distribution from at least 1938. Information from Polk City Directories lists the site as a Texaco Company from 1946 through 1963, Kenney Fuel Co Oil in 1969, Parsel Distribution Company in 1974, Kelley Oil Company in 1978, and Kittitas Valley Oil in 1983. Midstate Co-Op entered into the existing property lease with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in May 1983. Midstate still leases the site; however, the site is currently vacant. All structures were removed from the site in 2012, leaving a vacant lot.
