Additional Property Attributes

The additional 200,000 in cleanup funds provided via a loan was necessary to address and prevent the future migration of off-site contamination onto a portion of the site that was cleaned up under the initial loan of approximately 988,000

Former Use: The former McCord Site is reported to have consisted of vacant land and residential homes prior to construction of the first industrial building around 1917. Multiple additions and modifications were made to the building between 1920 and 1985. The office building attached to the east side of the manufacturing building was a renovated former house moved to the site in 1941. The last major addition to the building was the construction in 1974 of additional warehouse and manufacturing areas on the south side of the building. A smaller addition was constructed on the northeast corner of the building in 1985. The building was originally occupied by All Metal Products Company, a manufacturer of metal toy guns, air rifles, cars, trucks and airplanes. All Metal Products operated at the site from 1917 until 1951. At that time the site was sold to McCord Corporation, a gasket manufacturer. McCord Corporation acquired additional adjacent property and manufactured gaskets on the site until the early 1990s. Starr Tech, an automotive parts rack manufacturer, occupied the southern portion of the building in the late 1990s. Otherwise, the site appears to have been used for a variety of storage operations since McCord ceased site operations.
