The potential of Hazardous and waste product contamination at this site due to the presence of Walter Reed Army Medical Center located adjacent and downgradient to the west and was identified on the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Information System (CERCLIS) and Recovery Act (RCRA) did not possess a treat to classify this property as a REC because of its location to the facility.

Former Use: This property is vacant and about 0.17 arcres of land with a small brick building situated on the eastern portion of the site. The site is located immediately northeast of the intersection of Georgia Ave. and Elder Street in the Brightwood neighborhood in the northwest quagrangle of DC within a mixed-use area consisting of government and residential land uses. Walter Reed Army Medical center located adjacnt and downgradient to the west is the most important landmark within the area. Historically, this site was residential from 1922 through 1964. Between the period of 1977 to 1998, a portion of the site was used automotive garage
