Additional Property Attributes

The past uses of the Site dating back to 1916 as a single-family residence to an apartment building complex in 1954 and the fact that the southern adjacent property, the Brentwood Cleaners have operated as a drycleaner for approximately 70 years is a reason to consider it as a Recognized Environmental Condition (REC). Also the SIte is identified on UST and LUST database is another reason to classify it as a REC. Numerous other listings were identified on the regulatory database for properties within the applicable ASTM-defined search distance, but based on the distance from the Site, topographical relationship relative to the site and/or regulatory case status, none of these offsite facilities identified are considered an environmnental concern to the Site.

Former Use: This property is located northeast of the intersection of Rhode Island Ave., NE and 13th Street, NE. The Site consist of one parcel of vacant land which totals approximately 1.95 acres and locaed in an area characterized by residential and commercial use. It is boarded to the north by single-family residences, to the east by 13th Street NE followed by single family residences and an apartment building; to the south by Rhode Island Avenue NE followed by a shopping center and an apartment building and to the west by a fire station. The southern adjacent property has operated as a dry cleaner from at least 1943 to the present while other past uses of the Site as determined by a review of reasonably ascertainable historical information dating back to 1916 has consisted of a single-family residence from at least 1916 to approximately 1954. From at least 1954 until approximately 1988, the Site was developed with a apartment building complex and from 1998 until present, it has consisted of vacant land.
