Additional Property Attributes

Construction of Puerto Rico Olfins was completed in 1969. The facility was used for the production of ethylene and propylene through catalytic cracking of butane and naptha. The site operated from 1970 to 1978, at which time it ceased operations. Empresas de Gas later opened on the southwestern portion of the site and currently occupies about five acres for administrative funtions, a mechanic shop and warehouse area. The site also serves as overnight parking for company tank trucks. Inactive portions of the site were once used as catalytic cracking of butane and naphtha to transform it into ethylene and propylene. Additional fractionating columns for distillation processes once separated main products from hydrocarbon by-products. The site include Above-ground Storage Tanks to store petroleum hydrocarbons in liquid and gas states. Pipelines on the site used to supply butane and naptha from CORCO. Former Use: Tanks for petroleum storage and chimneys and tubing used in the production of olefins from petroleum.
