Additional Property Attributes

Current property is vacant and all buildings have been demolished. The southeast portion of the Property was historically occupied by a residence/office, a lunch place/grocery store, detached garages/outbuildings, and a storage building prior to use as a parking lot and/or storage yard for Portage County. A very small outbuilding (indicated as a tool house in 1930) was present on the southwestern portion of the Property from 1893 to the 1930s. The majority of the Property was undeveloped from at least 1893 to the 1920s when a large building was constructed on the central portion. This building was occupied by a dairy operation in the 1920s and then by Portage County Engineers garage/offices from the 1930s to 2000. Two other buildings (a fuel building [originally used as a carpenter shop] on the southwest portion and a sign storage building on the west central portion) were also present on the Property and were used by the Portage County Engineers from the 1940s to 2000. The Property has been vacated since 2000 and the three buildings were demolished between 2002 and 2004. The use of the Property by the Portage County Engineer included the use of several USTs (three identified by the former fuel building and one identified northeast of the garage building), several ASTs, one hydraulic hoist, and included sign painting operations.
