Additional Property Attributes

Operating gas station. Current property owner is not the RP for an historical petroleum release requiring further delineation. At request of Village, we are assisting the current owner to complete the assessment for a BUSTR NFA letter.

Former Use: The request is to assist with some supplemental Phase II work to address two former USTs removed back in the 1990s. At the time, the consultant for the property owner concluded that there was no release and the site was clean. The current owner who purchased the property from the past owner responsible for the former USTs went through the Phase 1 process and was told by his bank that he could purchase the property because the former UST issue was resolved based on the previous consultants work. Now the current owner is trying to sell the property and this issue is coming up again and a new Phase 1 and the new bank has found that BUSTR never closed the site with an NFA letter and the former UST issue is not resolved. The former owner is no longer around and the most recent environmental work (paid by the current owner and potential purchaser) indicates that the former USTs did have a release above action levels and additional Phase 2 work is needed. The Village and the person who wants to purchase the property have asked for our help so that the current gas station can be sold to her and continue to operate.
