Property Highlights

Former Use: Property was used as a gas station and an auto repair shop between approximately 1950 and 1995 when the buildings burned down. Removal of several underground storage tanks took place in March 2005. The Vermont DEC requested additional subsurface monitoring and investigation, which was conducted in August 2006. PPF attached to QR 8, 07/01/06 - 09/30/06 Phase 1 ESA was drafted in September 2005, using TRORC's first Petroleum Brownfields Assessment grant. Phase 2 ESA reporting began in May 2006 with these funds. Several rounds of additional Phase 2 offsite sampling and analysis were conducted with these funds. The first Draft CAP was completed in September 2006, revised in August 2007, revised again in November 2007, and finalized in March 2008. The property owner undertook supplemental offsite sampling and assessment activities at his own expense and negotiated with a prospective purchaser for site redevelopment. A revised CAP was prepared, finalized, and approved (4/10/20). The property has been remediated and redeveloped with 4 units of permanently affordable housing.
