Additional Property Attributes

One building was observed on the property. The northwest corner of the building was utilized as a front office. Two restrooms were located along the southwest portion of the building. The eastern half of the building was developed with two garage bays, utilized for automobile repair. The front office space contained a desk, chair, and shelves which were utilized for storage of miscellaneous items. One gasoline can and several canisters of chemicals associated with auto repair including brake fluid were observed in this area. The westernmost garage bay was currently being utilized by Mr. Corbett to store and repair a truck which was elevated via electric lift. A variety of tools, automobile parts, tires, and chemical containers were observed throughout this area. A hydraulic fluid reservoir was observed on the floor beneath the truck. An air compressor, oil drain tank, and parts wash station were also observed. De minimus staining of the concrete floor was observed throughout the bay. The easternmost garage bay was being utilized for storage of miscellaneous items including an engine block, tires, automobile parts, and chemical containers. A water spigot and air line was observed along the eastern wall of the bay. The entire parking area was paved. Several automobiles and one boat were being stored in the parking area. A pump island was observed in the north central portion of the property. Four underground storage tank (UST) fuel ports were observed in the parking area. One damaged sewer clean out was observed along the northern property boundary.

Former Use: Based upon historical research, the site was developed with residential dwellings from at least 1898 until 1951. The site was then developed as a filling station and automobile repair shop from at least 1953 until approximately 1985. According to the son of the current property owner, his father began managing the filling station in 1956. According to the current deed for the site, his father purchased the property in 1978. At the time of the site reconnaissance, the repair shop was only being utilized by the property owner for repair of his personal vehicles and for storage, no business occupied the building.
