Additional Property Attributes

The subject facility was built in 1961 and was operated as the Laguna-Acoma High School until the new high school was build 2005. Laguna Pueblo uses the Kawaika Center for offices, programs, and meetings, and the expanded area of interest includes additional buildings and land that are used by the Pueblo, Grants-Cibola County Schools, and privately owned structures on Pueblo land.

Former Use: Kawaika Center includes a main building, as well as number of outbuildings. The former bus building is an approximately 1,000 square foot structure. Prior to 1981, 10 to 12 school buses were parked and refueled near the building.
