Additional Property Attributes

At the time of reconnaissance, the building was used as a restaurant. The property contains one commercial building that is 4,008 square feet. The site was up for sale, but unknown information on historic underground storage tanks (USTs) that were partially under the building were identified during the Phase I ESA. Petroleum tanks had been closed and had not been used for more than 30 years, but there was no environmental data or information on the closure. The perception of potential environmental risk remained and was inhibiting the transfer of this property.

Former Use: The main building was constructed in 1950. Ownership records indicate that from the 1950s through the early 1970s the property was a Chevron Service station. From 1971 through 1984 it was an auto parts sales and service store; the underground storage tanks (USTs) associated with the gas station were decommissioned in 1973 by filling them with sand. From the mid-1980s to the mid-2000s the site was used as a printing service. The site became a mortgage brokerage business in 2004, and in 2009 the current owners established the restaurant. Based on information received from Ecology in June 2014, no previous environmental reports or investigations for the subject property are on record.
