Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is located in a lightly developed corridor along Burton Ferry's Road. The vicinity is characterized by undeveloped and agricultural land and commercial and light industrial development. The property is vacant with one structure on the property. It was used as a restaurant and bar. The property is owned by Western Carolina Higher Education Commission. The building contains asbestos which must be abated prior to demolition which is planned for the site. The only REC is an off-property REC. The historical presence of an automotive repair shop (Rivers Automotive) on the adjoining property to the northeast, which potentially contained underground storage tanks for petroleum products, as evidenced by an apparent former dispenser island, is considered a REC.
