Additional Property Attributes

The former Goodman Oil facility in Grand View, Idaho utilized the Idaho Brownfields Program Phase I and Phase II site assessments to leverage for local grants for to perform the soil remediation and construction of a riverside park along the southern banks of the Snake River.

Former Use: The former Goodman Oil facility began retail fuel operations in 1947 along then Highway 30. The site expanded to include automotive repair and later added bulk fueling operations using ASTs. The retail fuel sales ceased in 1972 when Highway 30 was rerouted around Grand View. The auto repair and bulk fuel distribution continued until 2001. Once the Brownfields assessment was completed and the area to undergo remediation delineated, Goodman Oil transferred the property to the city of Grand View at no charge via a Quit Claim Deed. The city then proceeded to implement the soil remediation plan and placed activity and use limitations on the property via an environmental covenant entered into with IDEQ. Remediation was completed in late 2013. The riverside park was completed in stages with the river observation deck completed in September, 2014.
