Additional Property Attributes

On June 15, 2015, the City of Ottawa and its QEC provided a reliance letter to facilitate a real estate transaction on this property.

Former Use: The building is located in a vibrant downtown commercial district and was rapidly deteriorating and needed immediate structural work as a result of owner neglect. The Citys goal was to acquire the building and perform the structural renovations needed to save it from demolition and return it into productive use to support the downtown district. The Phase I identified a historical dry cleaning facility with USTs immediately abutting the property along with heating oil ASTs located in the basement of the property building. The City used the Phase I ESA to acquire the property as a bona fide prospective purchaser to perform the needed repairs and position the site for resale and redevelopment. Several commercial entities have expressed interest in purchasing the property and building upon completion of the repair work.
