Property Highlights

The Phase I environmental site assessment was completed in August 2014 and identified the following recognizable environmental conditions: � The old school tank farm (TF1) has 16 remaining ASTs that that have the potential to further deteriorate and facilitate a release of residual fuel. � A release of lead from crushed lead batteries on the NE side of the old school (S1). � Past releases of fuel around the tank farm uncovered during historical research and interviews. � A weathered transformer housing on the west side of the boiler house (S3) which may potentially contain PCBs.

Former Use: The property is currently owned by the City of Chevak, who took title from the Kashunamiut School District (also known as the Lower Yukon School District) in 2003. The property consists of the school building, outlying buildings and a tank farm on an area of 4.88 acres. The buildings are currently unoccupied with the exception of one building (S2) which houses the village safety department.
