Additional Property Attributes

During a Phase I investigation, noted Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) included: (1) Filled-in drain in the floor of a storage building which may have intercepted petroleum products; (2) Former use of site as a roll off and compactor service, which may indicate presence/release of unknown wastes; (3) Illegal burning and demolition/burial of possible asbestos-containing building materials, which may have introduced respiratory hazards into soil and other contamination to groundwater. Soil samples indicated arsenic concentrations exceeding NDEQs Remediation Goal (RG) for residential land use but below the RG for industrial land use and also below arsenic background levels for Madison County, NE. Groundwater samples collected at the filled-in floor drain did not detect concentrations of regulated Total Extractable Hydrocarbons (TEH) compounds above NDEQ Petroleum Risk-Based Screening Levels (RBSLs), but TEH as a hydraulic fluid was detected. There are currently no established NDEQ petroleum RBSLs for TEH as a hydraulic fluid.

Former Use: Property formerly used as residential/agricultural land, and as Johnny's Roll Off & Compactor Service as early as 1987. Illegal burning and demolition and burial of building material (possibly containing asbestos) has occurred on the property.
