Additional Property Attributes

Town is negotiating to purchase the property for $1 if the Owner agrees to assist the town with clean up grant fund match. The plan is to convert the land into a municipal parking lot. Former Use: According to environmental due diligence reports prepared by Stantec (in 2006) and Sanborn Head and Associates, Inc. (SHA, in 2013) Central Plating conducted electroplating of metal parts at the Site from 1963 until circa 2006. Wastewater from the operations of Central Plating was directed to the municipal sewer system since the start of operations circa 1963. Central Plating?s metal finishing processes included: anodizing of aluminum parts (using nitric and sulfuric acids); chrome electroplating (generally of stainless steel parts); nickel electroplating; chromate electropolishing; black oxide finishing; passivation (using nitrate with dichromate); and a lacquer dip tank used to coat racks used in nickel plating.
