Former Use: Based on the Phase I report, it is likely that the Site was undeveloped or used as farmland from the late 1800s to1954 when Union Malleable constructed a foundry on the Main Tract. The Main Tract was used for the manufacture of metal castings from 1954 to 2000 with several building additions and ancillary structures added to the original operation over the years. Operations were conducted by Union Malleable from 1954 to 1972, then by U-Brand from 1972 to 1993, and by Ashland Castings in the mid-1990s. Dalton Corp. purchased Ashland Castings in 1995 and operations at the Site were known as Dalton Corp. Ashland Manufacturing from 1995 to 2000 (although Neenah Enterprises purchased the business in 1998). The Site was been vacant since 2000 and the structures were demolished in 2005. The Undeveloped Tract has historically been undeveloped wooded land although the eastern portion may have been part of a foundry sand disposal area.
