Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The first evidence of development on the Subject Property is shown on the 1901 Sanborn Map with the Xenia Gas & Light Co. gasification plant on the southwest portion of the property and two dwellings on the northeast section. The 1931 and 1950 Sanborn Maps show the further development of the site by Dayton Power and Light on the northeast portion of the property; this addition included a transformer yard and the current shop building. The 1963 Sanborn Map indicates the transformer yard was taken out service. In 1964, the Dayton Power and Light Company sold the Subject Property to a private individual. The 1973 City Directory lists the Subject Property occupied by the Chemical Research Associates Co. The current owner, Mr. Walter Collier, purchased the Subject Property in 1977 and opened Toms Auto Parts, which operated as an auto repair service until 2004. The property has remained unused for approximately 10 years.
