Additional Property Attributes

The city of Newark intends to purchase the site and demolish the building. This is the first of multiple buildings along a small portion of Union St the city hopes to demolish and make available for future commercial use.

Former Use: Based on reviewed documentation, it appears that the Site was first developed circa 1900 with the current Site building. Occupants of the Site building have included a grocery store and confectionaries (early 1900s), restaurants (approximately 1915 to 1950), then Farquhar and Steinbaugh hunting and fishing supplies/sporting goods store (1950 to 2013). The building has been vacant for approximately one year.
