Additional Property Attributes

This brownfield was historically used as a metal works/foundry and wire fabrication facility. In 2015, the current property owner purchased the property for $150,000 (from County property records). The City's Brownfield Program provided the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) so the purchaser can meet their "All Appropriate Inquiry" requirements during the due diligence period. Upgrades to the two industrial buildings, electric, safety, security and amenities has transformed this brownfield into multimedia production spaces, galleries, and outdoor and indoor concert/event space-mostly catering to the thriving Atlanta hip-hop scene. There are also 7 for-rent studio/maker spaces.

Former Use: The site was a vacant industrial/commercial property when the assessment was completed. Historically it was used as a metal works/foundry and wire fabrication facility (W.C. Caye) with a historic on-site foundry (identified on historic Sanborn Maps). The buildings on both parcels range in construction dates from 1920 through 1960 and have been vacant since at least the 1980s and 1990s.
