Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property at 1700 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Pensacola, Florida is a vacant, former gasoline station and potentially a former auto repair and maintenance shop as evidenced by the two service bays on the west side (front) of the property. According to information provided by the City of Pensacola, this facility had four 3,000-gallon UST on the south side of the building, two 500- gallon USTs - one on the west and one on the east side of the building - and one 280-gallon tank on the east side of the building. The 500-gallon UST on the west side of the building reportedly had 6 inches of oily sludge (possibly a waste oil tank), and one of the 3,000- gallon USTs had a hole in the bottom. According to records on file with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), the USTs were removed from the site in 1992. According to an FDEP representative, an Assessment was required to determine whether the USTs had discharged petroleum products or waste oil to soil and groundwater. The USTs were owned and operated by a former major oil company that is now defunct. The property was purchased in the 1970s by the current owner. the current owner never used the USTs or dispensers.
