This property will be demolished and used for parking to support the new Rocky Mount Event Center.

Former Use: The 357 Falls Road site is developed with one parcel totaling approximately 0.23 acres of land according to the Nash County Tax Office. An 8,775 square foot one-story structure is located on the subject site. The subject site building is vacant and was formerly occupied by Holbrook Motor Co. and Rocky Mount Willy�s Co. An adjacent concrete parking lot used for the private parking of vehicles is located on-site to both the south and east of the former body shop. The subject site is located in a generally commercial and residential area and is zoned B-2 (Commercial Corridor District) by the City of Rocky Mount Planning Department. According to the Tax Office, interview information, and other historical information, the subject site first operated as a car dealership prior to the construction of an office and service garage on the northern portion of the subject site around 1930. Since then, the automobile body shop has remained on the subject site in its current configuration. The original owner of the building sold the property in 1989 and it continued to operate as an auto body shop until the business closed in 2010. Six abandoned underground storage tanks are located on the south end of the property and were historically used by the former car dealership occupying the subject site; however, all six tanks were reportedly filled with foam in 1998. The site was formerly owned by Palma Crozier, whose family operated the auto body shop.
