Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Standard and other historical sources document the subject property was initially developed prior to 1897 with a residential dwelling and detached car garage. Between 1902 and 1907, the detached car garage was demolished, and by 1912, a second dwelling was constructed on the western portion. The dwelling on the western portion was demolished by 1927. By 1938, the remaining residence was demolished, and the subject property was redeveloped with the current building. The building was occupied by an automotive service garage with painting operations in the western portion and a gasoline dispensing station in the eastern portion. Two gasoline storage tanks were depicted on the central portion in the 1949 and 1966 Sanborn Maps. It is our experience that these tanks identified on Sanborn maps are for underground storage tanks (USTs). It is unknown how long the subject property operated as a gasoline dispensing station and automotive service garage, but likely operations ceased in the 1970s or 1980s. The subject property remained vacant for a portion of time during the 1980s and 1990s. The subject property was occupied by DUC Forklift Company and Scarborough Towing and Recovery. During the tenures of DUC and Scarborough, no gasoline dispensing operations or automotive service operations occurred. The subject property has been vacant since approximately 2013.
